Description

Our Learning Systems will be upgraded for staff websites (on learn3.open.ac.uk) on Monday 13 December, between 06:30 and 08:30. Websites on learn3.open.ac.uk will be unavailable while the upgrade is being carried out and the AL dashboard will not display new notifications from learn3.open.ac.uk websites during this time. TurtorHome and the eTMA system will be available throughout.

Description

We need to carry out essential work on our Integration Platform. This will mean that some staff and student-facing systems will be disrupted, or unavailable during the time frame defined in this notification. The current servers are running on an operating system that will soon be unsupported. This means they will be vulnerable and pose a security risk. The work is being carried out in the early hours of the morning to minimise disruption to students. Normally, during these hours, we run housekeeping tasks which mean some areas of our websites are read-only anyway. These housekeeping tasks will run as normal and the usual websites will remain read-only as normal. During this maintenance period: • Students will not be able to look at venue details or book on tutorials • Enquirers will not be able to sign up for an account, request a prospectus or access their My Account page • Other systems will be accessible but may respond more slowly For staff, there may be issues with copy management data on the same day – for example, student loan information may not be up to date until later in the morning.

Description

Our Learning Systems will be upgraded on Wednesday 15 December, between 04:00 and 08:45. Module and Study websites on learn2.open.ac.uk, and community websites on learn1.open.ac.uk won’t be available for some of that time and the Dashboard won’t be displaying new notifications. The Open Science Lab will also be down for part of the time. Module websites should return from 07:45. Anyone using Students in Secure Environments websites (learn7.open.ac.uk) during this time won’t be able to log in. If they are already logged in before the upgrade begins, they will be able to continue using the system as normal. StudentHome and the eTMA system (which can be accessed via StudentHome) will be available throughout.
